Prepare a 2-paragraph response to each of the following ethical questions on Bozeman’s Story Mill Landfill.  Use your notes from group discussions in class and your text to develop your responses. 

Grades will be determined based on the following criteria.

1. Logic and analytical thought used in the response (50%)

2. Quality of writing (50%)

Ethical question #1 - Was it ethical for the consulting engineer to design and propose the subdivision and did the City staff act ethically in arguing against the development?

Ethical question #2 – should the City have notified the residents about the presence of VOC’s in the groundwater?  

Ethical question #3 – Should the soil gas at the landfill boundary been tested and reported to the residents?

Ethical question #4 – Should the City have installed, at taxpayer expense, sub-slab mitigation systems when the source of in-home VOC’s was uncertain?

Ethical question #5 – Should the City have installed, at taxpayer expense, the on-site remediation system when sub-slab systems were in place?
