Watch the Khan Academy video then go to US Census and use tools to find dependency ratio in your area of residence. The video is about  5:15 in length. Pay particular attention to the notion of the dependency ratio.

Enter the name of your city/county and look at the general population facts from 2010. Use that data to calculate the dependency ratio, and discuss what that ratio means in terms of the future (both short-term and long-term) of your community. Are there any policies that should be implemented or supported to address what you see? And how does this information relate to other concepts described in this module?
