1.  A new client has just arrived at the community mental health clinic where you function as the crisis worker. She tells you about all of her problems, including a history of mental health treatment and homelessness. What will you tell her about the process of how your clinic will help her?

2.  Case of Mildred. Mildred is a 42-year-old white female who is recently divorced. She is not doing well in her love life and comes to you to get some immediate help because she is depressed and thinking about suicide. She spends the first ten minutes weeping uncontrollably and has a hard time putting words together. Of the nine intentional strategies, which ones will you employ to stabilize this very distraught woman, and why?
