How did urbanization in the United States shape comic culture between 1890 and 1945? What role did race play in the characters, setting, and story created in this period? Give specific examples that support your analysis. 

Your essay should build on class readings and can incorporate material you researched in the timeline project.  This essay should be 1000 words and use MLA citations. A superior essay will engage in a close reading of class material, utilized quotes from scholarly sources that support your argument, and use clear and concise language.

This essay is part two of a semester project. I also attached the Timeline Project which is part one of this project.
