Essay 2: Synthesis Essay

For your synthesis essay, you will develop an original thesis in response to a question, while also engaging with two assigned readings to use as textual evidence or counter-evidence. This is the same format expected in the Final Exam. 

Please choose two of the following readings: 

· “Small Change: Why the Revolution Will Not Be Tweeted” by Malcolm Gladwell

· “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” by Nicolas Carr

· “Our Vanishing Night” by Verlyn Klinkenborg

· “The Loser Edit” by Colson Whitehead 

Choose one of the following questions to respond to:

1. Is there a relationship between technology, society, and/or identity? If so, what is it? How does it influence our lives? Choose two essays and explain. 

2. How is our technology – in any aspect – hurting society? Or, how is it helping society? Choose two essays and explain.
