Assume that you are part of a group that is studying the creation of a national police force in the United States, such as those found in many countries around the world.  All state, county and municipal police organizations would be abolished in factor of having only this single national agency, with on governing board, one set of laws to enforce and agency policies to uphold, and standardized training and pay/benefits.  Develop an argument both for and against this proposal, perhaps including the history of policing, all possible positive and negative consequences that might occur from the single entity, its political pitfalls and favor with the general public, and whether or not your would support this proposal.
