Topic: The Human Population
In Unit 1, you investigated the structure and function of how healthy ecosystems should work and how they recover from disturbance.
In Unit 2, you will consider how humans have extended the carrying capacity of the Earth to act as a global ecosystem. You will learn that the demographic transition model correlates population growth rates as a country transitions from a primitive culture to one that is more industrialized.
In this unit, you will do the following:
· Explain demographic patterns in developed and developing countries and their impact on the environment
· Distinguish historical and modern approaches to food production, distribution and security
