English Research Proposal

I'm doing a research proposal on Diamonds. 

Instructions:

Purpose: The purpose of the research proposal is to help you to understand your project, to gain direction and feedback on your project, and to establish a blueprint for your project.

Description: In this assignment, you will create a research proposal consisting of three sections:

Section 1: What is the topic? (150-200 words)

Section 2: What is the controversy? Include paragraphs that detail both sides (Pros & Cons) of the controversy. (300-400 words) 

Section 3: Your tentative thesis statement (one to two sentences)

This assignment must be in APA format & References must be included in the paper as well.

Here are some questions that can kind of help you see the direction I want to go in with this research paper on the topic of diamonds. For example: What are Diamonds? Where are Diamonds found? or where are they mostly located? Whats gives diamonds its different colors? Why are diamonds so expensive?

Some controversy (pros & cons) questions examples on diamonds: Is diamond mining harmful to the surrounding environment? or it harmful & risky to for the miners? Does Diamonds cause pollution when found? When diamond mining how is the wildlife affected? What are some benefits that can come from diamond mining?

At the bottom I've attached an example to give you an idea what my paper should look like when completed.
