Before answering Question One, read the definition and description of emotional intelligence on pages 296-299 in your textbook, then complete the Emotional Intelligence (EI) questionnaire at the beginning of Chapter 8. The self-assessment has five competency categories - Self- Awareness (SA); Managing Emotions (ME); Motivating Oneself (MO); Empathy (E); and Social Skill (SS).
1. Based on your questionnaire results, identify your two lowest score competencies. If you have multiple, duplicate scores, choose two to write about. (Review the ‘Traits of Those with High EI’ p.300 for ideas).
a. Identify behaviors and attitudes that you think contributed to scoring lower in those areas.
b. Describe (in your own words) strategies you could implement to improve these competencies.
