If you are not a news hound or a politics junkie, you may have missed some very contentious, high-profile decisions by the Supreme Court of the United States (aka SCOTUS). For those of you who would like some extra points, you should choose one of the cases featured below (Google-ing the case name will yield many results):

· Janus v. AFSCME

· Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission

· Garza v. Hargan

And once you have chosen a case, perform the following type of analysis:

· Summarize the incident that began the lawsuit

· Connect it to the larger issue it addresses (After all, it doesn't get to the Supreme Court if the stakes aren't high)

· Offer your own opinion about how the decision might affect your life or the lives of people you know

Properly developed analyses will be at least 2 pgs. long and will count for two homework assignments worth of credit.
