Exploring Impactful Healthcare Careers
1. List 3 possible career choices you are interested in pursuing:
· 1st Choice: Nurse Practitioner (NP)
· 2nd Choice: Physical Therapist
· 3rd Choice: Healthcare Administrator
2. Question: How has the expanding role of Nurse Practitioners transformed modern healthcare delivery?
Working Thesis: The changes in the status of the Nurse Practitioners have transformed the healthcare systems through three indispensable facets within the medical sector. First of all, through their functions that include conducting general health examinations, prescribing drugs, and monitoring and treating chronic illnesses, they have increased the availability of quality health services to numerous clients. Second, their role in responding to occasional physician deficits in rural and underserved regions has assisted in closing gaps in healthcare access and, therefore, helped to address issues that arise from physician scarcity. Furthermore, many researches have shown their effectiveness on enhancing patients’ health status as well as the cost-saving factor since NPs spend more time with patients, engaging in practices such as health promotion and delivering cheaper services compared to physician-based systems (Mileski et al., 2020).

Beamon writes about a newly-created reading program at an elementary school and interviews
teachers and faculty that help younger students improve their reading skills. Beamon’s article
interviews teachers who believe that a good environment is essential for reading and that
students’ reading scores increase the more attention they get in the classroom. Beamon’s article

can use direct quotes like “the program was primarily created to improve reading comprehension
test scores, it has also boosted the school in many more ways” to prove that being able to read at
a young age is necessary for students and will help them in many ways. This is a secondary
