Tentative Title:

Tentative Thesis: Al-Andalus was a safe harbor for political, cultural, military socio-political elements for moors coming from Africa.

Context: Iberia, Africa, Spain, 13 century ,17th century, Moors

Evidence for Thesis:

1. Al-Andalus focuses on its cultural, military, and socio-political elements during the Moorish rule. Blended cultures influenced the development of societies. The legacy was considered and reconstructed. I intend to use this in my paper by providing direct quotes from the texts to support my statements. I will also use chapter 11 in my paper, which is important because it supports my topic. Thomas Glick argues that there is no breach between Iberian and European earlier colonization process in America. This argument supports my thesis because it is the key idea to Moorish society that was impactful and showed things in the Americas.1

2. During the Medieval Jews converted to Christianity in the Iberian Peninsula. They secretly maintained their religious practices and beliefs. Their identities and strategies they used help them keep their faith hidden while living in Christian society. I will use this journal for citation providing my work cited so my reading can know where my sources will come from. I will also use my evidence in paragraph 5 to support my argument. Decker offers an article that situates Jews who converted to Christianity maintained their Jewish religion identities in secret. This article supports because all religions were complex in ways that resisted simple categorization.2

3. “Moorish culture in Spain” is the exploration of the cultural achievements of the Moors in Spain. Moors developed aspects of daily life, architecture, and science culturally. The Muslims, Jews, and Christians blended in Al-Andalus showing the territory 's unique rich tradition. I will utilize the article as a reference in my paper. I will use evidence from the Introduction in this book to support my topic. Burckhardt Chapter focuses on the Moorish

culture advancements and how Al-Andalus lasted for centuries. This chapter supports my topic because it supports the significant contribution made by the Moors during their rule.3

4. The relationships and interaction between the military and Muslim settlers in Christian kingdoms in Medieval Iberia. The military interactions with Muslims communities and how the structure life under Christian rule. The Muslims were playing their role in forming identity and community connections. I intend to use this article to support my analysis of my Theis. I will also use Introduction of this Journal Article to support evidence that relates to my topic. Clara Almagro Vida article focuses on the creation of bonds between the military and the Muslim settlers. This article supports my thesis because it is a key idea of how the Moors settled in Iberia.4

5. This picture correlates with my topic because this is a temple from the Moorish culture in Spain. This temple was a creation from the Moors during the Medieval period. The Moors practice their religion and beliefs. I intend to use this artwork in paper as evidence to show my reader an example of my topic. I will use this picture to help give some ideas on what my topic was or what it looked like. This artwork was created by the Moorish architects in Spain. This artwork supports my thesis because it reflects the cultural influences of the Moors.5
