Essay 2 is a Pro/Con Research Paper
1. Choose ONE of the following research questions:

Write a seven paragraph essay that takes a clear position on an issue.
· Introduce the issue (provide context/background) and take a clear position on the issue (introduction + thesis statement)
· Provide three reasons to support your position. Explain and support these reasons with facts and examples from your research. Provide at least two citations. (body paragraphs 1-3)
· Acknowledge and explain the counterargument. You don't have to provide proof of each claim, but you should cite any sources you use in your explanation. (body paragraph 4)
· Provide a rebuttal to the counterargument. Provide support from your research (at least 1 citation).
· Conclude with a brief summary of your main points from body paragraphs 1-3. Then finish the essay with some final thoughts, for example, a prediction, a solution, an implication, a call to action, etc.
Do NOT use first person in this essay. Use third person only.
