*Evidence: This asks you to point to and perhaps quote directly from what you read. Open with phrases like, "I read..." or "I noticed..." or "I saw/heard..."

*Interpretation: This asks you to relate what you have cited for evidence to something else in your life, to make connections or raise questions. Consider a past experience, a personal experience, something else you have read somewhere else, or something you have learned in class. Use phrases like "I wondered..." or "I thought about..." or "I was confused by..." or "I related that to..."

1. Create a list of key words(http://library.ucsc.edu/help/research/identify-keywords) that are related to "Mother Tongue." In other words, what words stick out from the reading that highlight what the article is about. Which words aren't in the reading but you still think about when speaking about this article?

2.Using these key terms, I want you to use Google to find a related article: something that extends/branches out the conversation. Make sure that it is an article from a reliable source.
