Week 13: Topic Proposal- post by Wed Apr 8th, responses due by Fri Apr 10th (make up a topic you are familiar with)

It's time to get rolling on your research project. This week for your forum, please do the following:

Initial Post (Due Wed Apr 8th, 150 words minimum). This is your topic proposal, and I will go through and approve it.

1. Tell me what problem/issue/legend/unsolved mystery you'd like to research.

2. Why did you pick this specific topic? Why is this something that you want to look into more?

3. Tell me what you already know about this topic. 

4. Do you know of any possible solutions/explanations already that you might focus on?

Response Posts (Due Friday, April 10th, at least two responses and 50 word minimum per post)

1. Do you know something about the topic that your classmate didn't list? Share that information.

2. What questions do you have for your classmate about their topic?

3. Can you think of any potential solutions/explanations to the topic?

4. If you were researching this topic, what words might you use in your search?

Week 13 sources

Preliminary Five Sources

These are preliminary sources, which means I don't expect you to have read the sources or taken notes on them yet. I just want you to locate five specific sources you think you might be able to use. It's important to make a quick preliminary search to make sure you will be able to find sources on this topic; if you can't, there's still time to change your topic.

You need to submit complete information (name of article/book/website/interviewee, author, date, where you found it) about five sources. You do not need to put the information in any particular format at this stage of your research. You need to include at least three DIFFERENT types of sources. Types of sources include:

· journal articles from the online databases

· newspaper articles from the online databases

· articles located on websites

· websites

· books

· interviews

· media: TV, radio, films, YouTube

Again, you may not end up using all of these sources, and you don't need to have read them yet. And again, you should have  five sources in total representing at least three different types of sources.
