Write a literary analysis essay, based on ONE of the short stories we have read so far (Kate Chopin, “The Story of an Hour,” Eudora Welty, “A Worn Path,” or Olsen, “I Stand Here Ironing”). Refer to pages 20-30 for guidance in this process.

Choose which story you would like to write about; choose your topic and develop your thesis (based on one of the literary elements in the story); and write your essay. The questions after the story may help you figure out what to write about.

The essay should be a full essay, with an introduction and thesis, several body paragraphs using details from the story to support your thesis, and a conclusion.
