Empathy

After viewing our first Zoom lecture and the YouTube videos hyperlinked in the Week 2 Reading module in Canvas, ponder what you learned about perception, emotions, personal filters, and diversity of experience.  Submit a 2-page paper answering the following questions: 

• Did either presentation stir empathy or compassion in you? 
• What do you understand empathy and/or compassion to mean? 
• How can you become more empathetic? 
• Consider a day in the life of a legal professional working in a family law firm—with what sort of individuals might you interact?
• Do you think there any place for the practice of empathy in the practice of law?  Why or why not?
