Effective Job Descriptions 3
We learn from our reading and other research that a job description is essentially a list of the overall duties of a position that includes other factors as well. What would happen if a company did not provide this basic list of duties? What type of organizational structure would this create? Think about organizational culture and all the things that affect an organization's culture...Do you think that organizational culture would be affected if a company decided that it did not need this list or simple documentation as to what a person's main duties should be? Organization and direction are two of the most important elements when it comes to a company's ability to maintain order. Even though a simple job description might seem small...the absence of this kind of information can have larger affects on an organization without people realizing.
