Effective Change

Throughout your program, you have reflected on and analyzed topics and issues to find opportunities where you can effect positive social change as an effective change agent. By now, you may have sketched out specific lines of action, participated in targeted advocacy for certain groups or people, or delineated an area of service that is particularly close to your heart. You also understand that real change is not the result of wishful thinking. Rather, it comes from dedicated, deliberate, consistent, and concerted effort. It requires planning and thoughtful action that builds new forces, coalitions, or movements to change the status quo.

In this Discussion, you will share with your colleagues how you intend to effect positive social change in real and specific ways in your professional area of focus.

To Prepare:

· Review the Learning Resources and Course Announcements.

· Reflect on how your expertise, knowledge, and passion will effect positive social change as an HSPP. 

By Day 4

Post a Public Service Announcement of yourself presenting the following:

· Explain how you intend to effect positive social change in your area of focus as an HSPP.

· Share the reasons why you are focused on this area and how you intend to pursue it effectively.

· Include one key issue in your area of focus that you think needs attention now.
