Addressing Challenging Behaviors

After reading Burden Chapters 9 & 10 and viewing the powerpoint on “Addressing Challenging Behaviors” respond to the following:  

1. How does the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) approach to discipline differ from

    restorative justice?

2. Bullying is prevalent in schools today and as a teacher you will need strategies for addressing this

     issue. Explore one of the bullying prevention resources on Edutopia site (in learning activities

     folder)and provide a summary of the resource, insights you gained from it and a URL for the site.

3.  In Chapter 10 Burden describes approaches for responding to disruptive or violent behavior. Which of

     the approaches did you connect with and why?
