Decision-Making Model

Preparation: Read the Case Study in Chapter 1 of the Stader text, refer to the decision-making model (figure 1-1), and read the information detailing what the school administration did in the process of making a decision.

Describe a problem/issue that happened in a school where you worked (define the problem).  Research the pertinent legal/policy issues relevant to the issue and detail two or more possible solution pathways that could be followed (input).  Select the pathway to follow (make a decision).  Mention how ethics and the law affected the decision-making process. (Be sure to keep the individuals and locations involved anonymous (i.e., use pseudonyms for individuals and schools involved).
