Education Unit 2: Project Assignment - Facilities Safety

Facilities Safety: Submit by Saturday 11:59 p.m.

Upload the four safety checklists with your written comments on each, noting problem areas as well as areas with the duty of care exhibited.

NOTE: Simply copying the provided template and checking “yes” or “no” for the various indicators is NOT sufficient. You MUST include a comment for EACH indicator that what was noted as a proper standard of care or as a problem.

Consider:

• the information gathered during the interview with the local school administrator about the facility on which the safety checklists were completed (Outdoor and Athletic Areas Checklist, Entry Safety Checklist, Classroom Safety Checklist, and Mississippi Department of Education Accountability Standard 30: School Facility Safety Assessment Instrument).
• the data gathered on the safety checklists (listed above), taking note of problematic issues as well as areas in which proper care was evident.

Write a summary of the problem areas noted on the four safety checklists you completed, correlating comments made by the local school administrator relative to these same problem areas. Suggest possible solutions for the problems noted.
