• Discussion Question: After reading the introduction and Chapter 1 in Leading with Focus, discuss what in your school experience would lead you to believe that it is important to have a coherent, content-rich curriculum that is delivered through lessons that require purposeful reading and writing. Why should these be priorities that a school leader guards?  Include in your discussion how the 5 Steps in Schmoker’s formula for effective leadership could assist your school if leadership shifted to this focus on simplification.
