2.)  How may federal and state laws affect policy?

3.)  What are the primary differences between school board policy statements and administrative regulations?

4.)  Identify a policy or regulation from a school district with which you are familiar.  Discuss the type of policy or regulation (mandatory, directory, discretionary, or proscriptive), the intent of the policy or regulation, and provide an example(s).  See Table 6.6 on Kowalski, page 181 for samples.  [You may consider topics such as (but not limited to): assessment, teacher evaluation, technology usage, dress code, or discipline.]
