Using Professional Development Needs Assessment survey data, the candidate will create a comprehensive Professional Development Plan (PDP) designed to meet the needs and preferences of educators.
Professional Development Plan Paper Format
Title Section: Introduction (1-2 pages)
Your introduction should include a brief statement of what research describes as effective professional development of the purpose of building capacity. Research cited should be from course readings and articles researched by students. Including the understanding of how personnels’ professional growth directly affects student achievement in the educational setting.
Title Section: Guided Tasks Summary (3-4 pages)
The candidate will analyze the Professional Development Needs Assessment survey results provided by the professor. The goal is to create a comprehensive Professional Development Plan (PDP) for K-12 educators. Ensure that your plan is data-driven, addresses the identified needs, and aligns with best practices in professional development. Follow the steps outlined below to complete your analysis and develop an effective PDP.
1. Data Analysis:
1. Demographics: Examine the demographic data to understand the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the educators.
2. Current Professional Development: Identify trends in past professional development participation and effectiveness.
3. Professional Development Needs: Highlight the key areas where educators have expressed a need for additional training.
4. Preferred Formats and Duration: Analyze preferences for PD formats and session durations to ensure the plan aligns with educators' needs.
5. Barriers to Professional Development: Identify common barriers and consider how to address them in your plan.
2. Identify Key Findings:
1. Summarize the major findings from your analysis. Focus on the most requested PD topics, preferred delivery methods, and common barriers.
3. Develop Goals and Objectives:
1. Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals based on the key findings.
2. Develop objectives that will help achieve these goals and address the identified needs.
4. Design Professional Development Activities:

Title Section: Conclusion (1 page)
Summarize the main points made throughout the paper, reiterate key arguments, main take aways, and address any new questions that may arise out of the time spent completing the PDP process guided tasks.
APA Formatting:
Ensure that your Professional Development Plan adheres to APA (7th edition) formatting guidelines.
· Technical writing and grammar are both accurate and compelling.
· Paper shows strong evidence of editing and proofreading.
· Citations within the text are accurate and consistent with APA.
· References need to be complete, comprehensive, and consistent with APA.
· MUST use course assigned textbooks as references in research paper.
· MUST include 3-5 academic, peer reviewed articles as references in research paper.
