1.  Review the characteristics of a competent early childhood educator outlined on pages 105-106 of your course text, and explain how these characteristics come together to support and exemplify professionalism.
   
   
2. What do infant educators need to know in order to support the development and learning of very young children and their families? Based on Chapter 5 of your course text, identify at least three competency areas infant caregivers need to cultivate and why each is a critical component of professionalism.
   
   
3. "Communication is a two-way process. It requires both active listening and effective expression of thoughts and feelings" (Swim, T., 2017, 154). . Review the effective communication skills outlined on pages 150-153 of your course text, and, providing examples, explain how using these skills can support effective communication patterns. Identify a communication skill in which you are proficient. Identify a communication skill that you need to strengthen and explain why you believe it needs strengthening.
