Ashford 6: - Week 5 - Discussion 2

Learner Control

It is often assumed that providing a learner with more choices over his or   her learning experience will lead to greater success.  However,   according to Clark and Mayer (2008), this is not always the case.

The textbook outlines five principles for incorporating learner control   effectively into a learning environment. For this discussion, select one of   the principles and describe what it states, explains the theory behind the   principle, and examines how this principle might be incorporated into a JIT   training/learning activity.

Guided Response: Respond to at least two of your classmates who   selected different principles than you did.  Compare and contrast their   principles with the one you examined.  Describe at least one example   that illustrates how both principles might be incorporated into a JIT   training/learning activity.
