After reading your assigned chapter from Bad Ideas About Writing, explain what possible research questions you might explore related to your chapter. Help your classmates understand the chapter's major points. Use the six-step process for summarizing sources:

1. Actively read the original source.

2. Re-read the source while underlining or highlighting  key claims/points.

3. Without looking back at the source,  state each of the major claims/points in a sentence, in your own words.

4. Select a  quotation or example from the source that will give readers part of the "flavor" of the original.

5. Describe the  context of the source: author, date, research methods, publication, information -- anything that will be relevant for readers.

6. Put everything together into a reasonable, straightforward  order.
