Econ Discussion - Must be completed in 10 hours

This week's article was written while the Senate considered repealing  and replacing Obamacare.  At the beginning of Jul, the outcome of this  process is unclear; none of the options under consideration include the  proposal in this article - a single payer health care system.  The  author presents an analysis suggesting that other countries (all have a  broader access to health care) spend less and get better health  outcomes.  What do you think of this info and the qualifications he  presents?  Porter also suggests if the US adopted a single payer,  universal health care system, people would miss less work and work  longer leading to a stronger economy.  Does this make sense to you?   Bottom line, do you support  Universal health care and why/why not?
