By now you have chosen your topic. It is time to find resources that we can use to gather information on our W's(who what when why). We will use this information to help us decide what our 3 main points we will want to share with the audience about the chosen festival. From there, we will continue to use these resources to fill in those main points of our speeches in a later assignment. 

INSTRUCTIONS

Please find 3 resources that you could use to write your speech. Remember that you can use an

to find your materials. To promote scholarly research, websites (including Wikipedia, .edu's, .gov's and .org's) are not allowed. This does not mean that you are not able to use the internet to conduct your research. Often times, students confuse and interchange the words internet and website; but they are entirely separate concepts. What this means, is that the internet is the medium you use to access the books, newspapers, magazines or journal articles; the internet, however, is not your source. The book et al is your source. Let's look at a metaphor to further drive the point home.

Metaphor Comparison

A website is like a...."building", if you will off the roads of the internet. Just like our college library is a building or in this metaphor, a "website" that has books, et al inside of it , but the library is not the source--the books, et al still are. The 405 highway, or to complete the metaphor--the "internet" is just the road that gets me to the "website" to get my source (book, et al.) If there are no books, et al in the "library", i.e., website, I cannot use that as my source. 

APA REFERENCE PAGE

You will use American Psychological Association(APA) documentation style to format your References page. There are many websites and sources available on the internet that provide guidance on how to write it, as well as offer fields to enter the information of your source and have them populate the format for you. Feel free to use though tools available to you. This is NOT the same as MLA.

IMPORTANT: This is NOT your FINAL list of sources; it may change as you begin writing your presentation.

SUBMISSION

Provide 3 main points (subpoints are not needed for this assignment) that you can use to share information about your selected festival (Tip: Do your research first; then think Journalistic W's)
