Dear Students,

Your project for the book Lizzie Borden on Trial is as follows: you get to make a graphic "novel" of the book!  (Now isn't that more fun than writing a huge research paper??? :) )

Here is your rubric:

The novel (keep it historical though - novels are fiction and you're writing about history) needs to be at least 10 pages that have multiple illustrations on that which illustrate the story of Lizzie Borden's alleged crime and her trail.  Of particular importance, pay attention to the way society divides over this issue, and along what lines.  How does Lizzie's position in society just about guarantee the outcome of the trial?  Finally, do you think she was innocent, or guilty?  

Your book needs to be quality work, colored, and with typed information (from the book) describing what's going on for each of your pictures.  You don't have to draw like daVinci, just do your best! 

Please do your work in Microsoft Word; you can do it in whatever program you like, but then take pictures of it and paste them into a Word document.  That way we can be sure that Canvas will open the program.  Do NOT email me your project; my computer doesn't have a lot of artsy programs on it and I probably won't be able to open it.  

Have fun, learn about the most famous murder mystery in America, and make sure to turn your Project in on time!  If you need help, I'm just an email away - please remember to contact me via your HCC email or through Canvas; otherwise I can't answer you due to FERPA regulations.
