Write a comprehensive scholarly essay ( minimum 1500 words) in which you analyze, explain, and apply concepts from the assigned readings to a specific crime problem. You must incorporate and cite, using correct APA citation format, at least four different scholarly research sources.

In-text citations must be used in the body of your essay, and all research sources must be fully cited at the conclusion of your essay. Correct APA citation formats must be used.

The textbook provides a discussion of the question of whether systemic discrimination exists in the criminal justice system. The two sides of the argument are presented in the works of Heather MacDonald in her article “Is the Criminal Justice System Racist?” and Marc Maurer of the Sentencing Project. After reading this part of the READ section:

· Provide a summary discussion that compares these two sets of arguments regarding if discrimination exists in the Criminal Justice System.

· Select and discuss what you believe to be the most persuasive argument for each of these positions. You should choose one argument in support of MacDonald’s position that the Criminal Justice System is not racist. Then select one argument that supports Maurer’s position that the Criminal Justice System is racist. 

· Provide your own persuasive argument. Support your opinion or position with an additional argument not made by either Maurer or MacDonald.
