Dr, Adeline Zoe (Slides)
The slides can be created in whatever package you prefer – Powerpoint, Scientific Workplace/Beamer, Lyx/Beamer, etc. Please just be sure that you can create a PDF file from the slides for submission to the instructor and tutor. How many slides should you have? This is really up to how you structure your presentation. “2 minutes per slide” isn’t a bad rule of thumb, but feel free to break this rule. For example, you may wish to use a couple of slides that make a quick point, for example, a powerful visual, and only take 30 seconds for those. Or you may take 3-4 minutes on a slide with a number of touchpoints that you play off with illustrations, etc. Bottom line: make sure you practice your presentation multiple times so you know you can get through it at a good, engaging pace in just under 10 minutes.
