donor
Cultivating potential and current donors should be a rewarding and meaningful process for the potential/current donor and the staff member, board member, or volunteer engaging them. Just like a friendship, donor cultivation can be as simple as meeting over a cup of coffee to talk about the work of the organization. It might also include a tour demonstrating the programs and services offered by the organization, participation in a fundraising special event, sending the potential donor a copy of the organization’s newsletter, among other creative activities. The goal is to bring potential donors—and keep current donors—close to the organization so they feel a part of the work and mission.
