Applied DNP Leadership Assignment
The Growth and Development of People Is the Highest Calling of Leadership. - Harvey Firestone
PURPOSE As DNP-prepared leaders, graduates are expected to lead stakeholders in clinical settings effectively. An effective DNP-prepared leader must be knowledgeable about leadership theories and styles at all three system levels: microsystem level, mesosystem level, and macrosystem level. This knowledge helps the DNP team understand that everyone has had various experiences and exposure to leadership roles.
To help you reflect on your skills thus far, we created this assignment. Your leadership style may vary according to the situation, demands, and scope of control. Therefore, the purpose of this assignment will be to gain a better understanding of your leadership style in your new role as a DNP-prepared leader.
Successful DNP leaders motivate their employees to achieve the organization’s strategic goals. By understanding how different leadership styles impact staff behavior, you can choose the most appropriate style for your current situation and influence your staff effectively. For example, understanding how to use the visionary style allows you to describe your plan, exude enthusiasm, and encourage your subordinates to follow your lead.
