DIVERSITY

The critical note should be between 2-3 pages, double spaced.  The main point of the assignment is to ensure that you read critically, reflecting and analyzing the views and ideas offered by the writers.  The articles presented in this course offer particular view  points, these view points don’t need to be accepted, agreed upon, or rejected, but I want to hear how you examine the perspectives presented and how you then formulate your own opinion.  Please make sure to cite the artciles on CDA and CDHA!

• Do not summarize the readings. I want to hear your voice. Outline instead, your ideas, observations, and perspectives applied to the views and positions presented in the readings. 
• Do not dismiss a reading because you dislike the ideas or viewpoint offered. Conversely, do not simply accept a reading and its ideas because you like or respond positively to its viewpoint. 
• Reading critically and engaging with the reading means (in this context) exploring, investigating, testing, and challenging your responses to the reading, as well as the viewpoints and ideas presented by the writer.
