The research on the ill effects of added sugar consumption is building. Some researchers feel that sugar is as toxic as alcohol and as addictive as drugs. Others feel that sugar plays such a huge role in obesity that consumption should be regulated or taxed to curb consumption. Sugar is the new food villain.
