Discussion: Responses to Misuse

As you have seen, UAS can pose significant hazards in cases of misuse, e.g., interference with manned aviation, privacy intrusions, delivering of contraband, and terrorist attacks. Since you are taking this course as part of a larger educational effort in unmanned systems, you are well aware of the challenges and constraints.

But what about the other users? What should education and awareness-building look like? How should governments deal with perpetrators, criminals, and terrorists exploiting the capabilities of this neutral technology?
