Statement 1:    I believe the best way to assess competency for trial would be a full psychological exam by a trained professional. The criteria to be declared competent to stand trial should possibly be higher.  

Statement 2:     Although the Dusky standards are a good guideline to determining competency, they are not specific enough in determining the actual skills and abilities of the individual defendant. A defendant may be competent to stand trial, while not being competent enough to waive the right to an attorney and defend themselves in court
