Survey researchers use different research strategies. Two of the widely used strategies in developmental psychology are the cross-sectional strategy and the longitudinal strategy. Can you explain the difference between these two strategies? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each technique? Also, under what circumstances would you use each technique? Which of these two types did Lord et al. (2011) use? Do you agree with their choice? Why or why not?
