• What is your profession or future profession?

    I am currently an Administrator in the U.S. Navy.  My profession includes clerical work in drafting, reviewing, and disseminating correspondence, directives, and evaluations as well as personnel support for enlisted and officer personnel.

• What are some events or stories you might have to relate?

    Procedures rule the military world, in that you will always have to explain your process and recall it in the future to ensure you do not repeat mistakes.  For example, right now I am completing a change of command, which involves an entire ceremony based on tradition, each portion has a reason and my part is ensuring all personnel are at their appointed places on time, and if necessary assume the duties as the master of ceremonies and speak through the entire ceremony while the Commanding Officers are turning over.

• How can good narrative skills help you in these situations?

   having good narrating skills can make training or explaining to personnel what they need to do or how to do it easier, so I can accomplish my task in a timely manner and hopefully, if I am training someone they can take the information conveyed during my narration and implement it later themselves.
