Topic 6 Wrap-up
Class,
We discussed our thoughts and feelings regarding our financial responsibilities and some ways to save money. We also had a great discussion on budgeting strategies.
The goal this week is to discover more about the GCU Style of writing and scholarly research. In addition, as a student it is important to learn how to identify the skills you should gain to be successful in your courses at GCU while thinking of your academic path.
Good luck and “see” you in this week’s forum!
For participation credit, is there a money saving strategy from week 5 that you are going implement right away? Which strategy do you feel is the most important when managing finances?
Class,
The bad/good thing about learning, growing, and overcoming adversity is that there is no "comfort zone." If you are doing it right, you should always be doing things to take you out of your comfort zone so that you learn more. Obviously, you'll need to hit the auto-pilot button every once in a while, but the "joie de vivre" (joy of life) comes in discovering our limits and testing them. You will all do great and have a little faith.
What will you do in your next class to grow a little more?

My program of study is communications. Thus far,
I have learned more about why I chose the major I chose. Communication with others is one of the biggest tasks in life. Success can very well depend the ability to thoroughly communicate with someone. It is through our communication with others that we are able to articulate ideas and test theories.
Others may ignite a light bulb in our heads. Without communication with others in this class, I wouldn't be able to learn and analyze more deeply. It is always nice to get perspective with topics.
I feel that my professional life is centered on the ability to successfully communicate with others. Communication does not always have to be verbal, you can have great Communication through body language and gestures.
I feel that my career as a personal trainer can only be helped by pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications.

I plan to run my own business. So just about all the skills I've learned will apply to me. But if I work for an employer, Communication, critical thinking and Leadership will benefit me in these ways. If I work for someone then I'm gonna work my way to the top. And learn as much as possible about running a successful business. And showing that I have good communication skills. As well as the ability to listen to others and think about solutions. Along with good leadership skills. Will move me up the ladder. And get me into a position to learn from the people running things. And get me better prepared to one day run my own company.

I believe the knowledge and skills that i will gain in my current program of study is learning the different aspects of human resources. I did not realize how many different areas there are in the career that need to be learned. I am trying to level up in my career and succeed. I had a conversation with my boss today and she told me the next i would need to take was to become an HR Business Partner, I of course did not know what that meant and i asked what would that require of me. She responded they work closely with management and help set and many other job duties but one that stood out was creating a budget, I immediately remembered our topic of the week and the many ideas of creating our own budget. I have already learned a skill that i will need for my next career goal.

Critical thinking involves self-reflection. You are not the same person who began this course 7 weeks ago; you have learned and grown during this course. Please reflect on the following:
What things have worked best for you as a student in this course?
What things did not go as well as you had hoped? What can you do differently in your next course to ensure your educational success? Please provide specific examples.

Final week – Class Reflection
Class,
I cannot believe class is almost over! I want to thank each one of you for an amazing class; I sure hope you have gained the proper skills and knowledge of the LoudCloud system, and have many takeaways for your next course. It has been an honor to be able to interact with you all!
As a reminder, there are two assignments due in our final week (Sunday), and as I have stated in the main forum this week, per GCU’s policy , I cannot accept any late work once class is over. Please be sure to submit your assignments early so you do not run in to any technical issues.
For participation: What was most impactful for you during the last 7 weeks? What changes if any will you make when beginning the next class? Are there any improvements that you would like to see to this class?
Again, thank you for such a fun class! Good luck on your educational journey!

During this course, several strategies have been particularly effective for me. Firstly, I found that starting assignments early and completing them in a well-paced manner was crucial. It helped me stay on track and reduce last-minute stress. Breaking tasks into smaller chunks and working on them throughout the day improved my productivity and comprehension. Additionally, utilizing available resources, such as reading materials, online materials, and instructor feedback, enhanced my learning experience.
Conversely, I realized that my communication with peers could be more proactive. In future courses, I plan to engage in discussions and seek clarification when needed. Furthermore, I've learned the importance of having the right tools; I intend to download the necessary Microsoft apps for my MAC before the next course to avoid the limitations of the online version. Overall, these reflections highlight the need for continuous improvement and adaptation in my educational journey.

I have grown in several areas during this course. Some of the best things that have worked for me is being able to focus on one course versus several. Another attribute is the step by step tutorial that will be useful in future courses as well. One of the things I found hard was being able to arrange time management and the self discipline to stick with the schedule I created for time management. I believe in the last few weeks I have gotten better, and in future courses I believe it will become more of a habit and beneficial.

Some things that have worked best for me as a student in this course is to stick to a strict schedule and do not stray away from it. I learned to manage my time very well during this course and I used that to my advantage. I feel like I did really good during this course and I hope that I can carry it on to my next online class. I do not think that anything didn't go as well as I hoped, everything went better than planned. I would not do anything differently next course, I hope I can do the same as i did on this course next time.
