Traditionally, Biblical scholars have held the opinion that the events that take place in the book of Jonah are historical events. However, many modern scholars hold the view that the book is a fictional story designed to communicate a message. They cite the literary style and amazing adventures in the book to support this. Do you believe the events are historical or allegorical? Explain the reasons for your decision.
