DQ 1: After reviewing the Topic Materials, describe some ways in which the instructional shifts discussed in the resources are different from the way you were taught. How do the Standards for Mathematical Practice from the Common Core State Standards (see Mathematics Appendix A) reflect a vision of mathematics that is different from the one you experienced as a K-12 student?

DQ 2: The Task Group of the National Mathematics Advisory Panel sought to answer the question: What instructional practices enable students to learn mathematics most successfully? What do you see as most critical from the Panel’s findings regarding effective strategies in the Chapter 6: Report of the Task Group on Instructional Practices? Why?
