1. Do you think that a belief in equal dignity of all living things, as espoused by many Native American and Eastern philosophies, would weaken or strengthen the moral value of humans?

3.  What criteria did Thoreau argue must exist before engaging in civil disobedience? When might civil disobedience be justified, based on these criteria?
