Discussion question: Persuasion & Social Influence

Some of the concepts described in chapter 8 have been used by cult leaders to gain followers. For the purpose of this disfission, explore how normative and informational influence may be used to recruit and keep follower. Discuss how private acceptance and public compliance might work in this instance. Then, describe how one might go about resisting being recruited by these organizations.
