A 62 year old patient has been in an automobile accident sustaining severe injuries which requires interventional therapies provided in the ICU for severe AKI and musculoskeletal trauma. What are possible risk factors for this patient to develop renal failure. The diagnosis now includes that the patient has contrast-induced AKI. Explain what is contract-induced AKI, is it preventable? What puts a patient at high risk for contrast-induced AKI.
