Three ethical principles that are important include keeping the integrity of proper law enforcement. It is important for the community to trust law enforcement. Secondly, an ethical principal would be to never begin a relationship with inmates. They usually have ulterior motives which can cause a lot of trouble for the officer. Lastly, never accept any bribes, small or big from people. The inmates can use it as blackmail or as a means to get an officer to do more corrupt things.

            As a leader, it is important to lead by example and get to know your employees as well as community. Showing strength and positivity can cause a chain reaction where everyone is acting ethically and the community sees law enforcement as a positive force. If the police force sees that the community isn’t against them, they will in turn act ethical as well.
