Alice Walker, Joyce Carol Oates, and Maxine Hong Kingston write about how women from very different cultural contexts experience a lack of power. In your initial post, discuss a similar source of suffering for one of the women in Walker’s essay and either Connie (from Oates’ work) or No Name Woman (from Kingston’s work).
