The organizational and funding structure of K-12 education has expanded to include both public and non-public options for schooling. Privatization and commercialization of education have also affected issues such as funding and enrollment for schools. Public, not-for-profit, and for-profit choices for parents and families now include public schools, charter schools, home-schooling, and online or distance learning. Have these changes in the organizational and funding structures of K-12 schools affected the ability of school leaders to effectively implement school improvement? Why or why not?
